Mikel currently offers remote consultations for cat guardians.
Dr. Mikel Maria Delgado has been helping humans understand cats for over twenty years. She is co-owner of the cat behavior consulting business Feline Minds, and previously worked as a cat behavior specialist at the SF/SPCA. She received her PhD from UC Berkeley, where she studied animal behavior and the human-animal relationship. Following her PhD, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis.
Mikel is co-author with Jackson Galaxy of the 2017 book “Total Cat Mojo,” and has published her research in several academic journals, including the Journal of Comparative Psychology, the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science, Psychological Bulletin, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Anthrozoös: A Multidisciplinary Journal of the Interactions of People and Animals.
Mikel lives in Sacramento, CA with her boyfriend and their three rescue cats.
