I’m an EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Behavioural Medicine and a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (in the sub-speciality Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law and also in the sub-speciality Behavioural Medicine). I’m interested in all aspects of behaviour and welfare in all animals but particularly managing pathological behaviour in companion animals and horses and the effects of different management systems on horses, laboratory, farm and zoo animals. Ethics, particularly the ethical use of animals and legislation are also key areas for me.
My work primarily involves patient care, welfare assessments, teaching and research.
My voluntary work activities involve bringing the sciences of behavioural medicine and animal welfare to vets and also to the greater public.
